Towns and districts
Leith
Much of Leith is tenement flats, with converted dock and warehouse buildings around the Shore.
Portobello
The housing is largely Victorian and Edwardian, including seaside terraces, villas and flats.
Corstorphine
The area is mostly 1930s semi-detached houses and later suburban homes, many with gardens front and back.
Musselburgh
The housing is mixed, with older period property in the town and newer homes on the edges.
Dalkeith
Housing here runs from traditional stone and older town property to estate housing built later.
Livingston
It is a new town, so most homes are modern houses and flats built from the 1960s onwards.
